Covid-19 and social distancing measures did not stop the CFA Society Singapore University Ethics Challenge 2020. Held over Zoom, twenty-one undergraduate teams from Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) presented to judges on Saturday (Sept 26) morning in the Semi-Finals. The enthusiasm and zeal of participants could still be felt despite it being an online event.

Undergraduate teams had to identify and analyse violations to the CFA Institute “Code of Ethics & Standards of Professional Conduct”; and answer questions posed by judges. Five teams were eventually selected to enter the Local Finals—miracle ethiCs, Prior’s Paradox, The Moral Compass, Ethics Helpline and les éthiques.

At 4pm, the judges reached a decision. Congratulations to the top two teams – The Moral Compass, from NUS, and Prior’s Paradox, from NTU – who will be advancing to the Regional Finals!

And a BIG thank you to all our student participants, judges and audience for making this inaugural online event a resounding success. We wish the two teams all the best for 3 Oct!
