Maurice Teo, CFA, is currently SVP in the compliance team in Citibank, and supports the investments and wealth management functions in the Citi Global Wealth platform in APAC. Prior to Citibank, he spent several years in KPMG Singapore consulting for banks and fund managers on regulatory issues. Maurice graduated from Cornell University on an Overseas Merit Scholarship from the Public Service Commission. Maurice joined the Board in 2018 and is currently Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committee. He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

Laurel Teo, PhD, CFA, is a behavioural scientist who studies how new technologies such as artificial intelligence influence the way people think, feel, and behave in organisational settings. Her research interests include the impact of technological changes on privacy issues and the future of work. Dr. Teo is currently a senior research fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies at the National University of Singapore.
Dr. Teo was previously Director, Society Advocacy Engagement, at CFA Institute, where she supported CFA member societies in Asia Pacific in regulatory outreach, market integrity research, and investor protection programs. Before joining CFA Institute, she was a consultant in investor relations.
Dr. Teo began her career as a political and business journalist reporting in Singapore and Indonesia with leading newspapers. She earned her CFA® designation in 2011 and has been elected to the board of CFA Society Singapore since 2018. She is currently the honorary secretary of CFA Society Singapore. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) double majoring in Anthropology and Chinese from Yale University, and her Ph.D. in Business (Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources) from Singapore Management University.

The Advocacy Committee will selectively focus on initiatives falling within the above criteria and selectively support requests for opinion from local regulators or affiliated societies within the scope of the above.
The Career Development Committee runs activities to help members consider their long term career plans while expanding their network of contacts in the industry. The activities are selectively open to CFA candidates, students of partner universities and other industry partners.

Cindy Tan, CFA, is Chief Executive Officer of GMO Singapore Pte. Limited and is responsible for operational and governance matters for GMO’s Singapore office. She is also involved in business development matters for GMO’s Global Client Relations efforts in Asia. Prior to joining GMO in 2004, she worked at Ernst & Young, Singapore, where she was involved in the advisory and assurance work in several fund management companies in the local market. Ms. Tan earned her Bachelor in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She is a CFA® charterholder and a non-practicing member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

The committee, made up of practitioners, academia and CFA Society Singapore members will also work closely with regulators in shaping the industry and nurturing future leaders through content development.
Anubhuti Gupta, CFA, is a Senior Principal Consultant for the Wealth Business in Mercer, Singapore. She is responsible for delivering investment solutions and advice and driving strategic partnerships for institutional investors across Southeast Asia. She leads the team of Investment consultants in Singapore and is a member of the Asia Investment Committee, Capital Markets group and Sustainable Investing network at Mercer.
She has over 18 years of professional experience in the investment industry. Before joining Mercer, she was the CEO of Singapore and Head of Equity Quant Investments (formerly Rosenberg) for APAC at AXA Investment Managers.
Anubhuti is an active contributor on investing, leadership and sustainability-related topics. She has served on the global CFA Institute Education Advisory Committee as a member and Vice-chair for a term of 6 years and on the Nominating Committee for CFA Institute Board of Governors for a term of 2 years. She has been appointed as a member of the CFA Institute ESG Technical Committee starting September 2022. She sits on the Advisory Board of Singapore Chapter of CAIA Institute. She is a mentor and champion at the Financial Women’s Association of Singapore.
Anubhuti holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (First Class Honors) from Nanyang Technological University, and a Certificate in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
Kevin Ow Yong, CFA is an Associate Professor at Singapore Institute of Technology. He has previously worked at Peking University as an Associate Professor, Singapore Management University as an Assistant Professor, and Singapore Airlines as a regional accountant and financial analyst.
Dr Ow Yong has been a Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2003 as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2002. He currently sits on the IS Chartered Accountant Lab Content Advisory Committee at the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). He is also a member of the Institutional Review Board, Research Integrity Committee, Applied Research Committee and Sustainability Education Committee at his university, and a member of the UAFRS Advisory Council with Valens Research.
Prof Ow Yong has received various invitations to speak at several top-ranking China’s universities including Peking University Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-Sen University and Xiamen University as well as other famous universities in the Asia-Pacific region. He has received several research grants for his research work, including a research grant from the KPMG Foundation and the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) and the prestigious Ministry of Education Tier II Educational Grant for his research work on fair value accounting.
Kevin holds a First-Class Honours Degree (with University Medal) in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University and received his PhD (Business Administration) from Duke University.
The Industry Partnership Committee aims to foster collaboration between the Society and industry stakeholders. The primary purpose of the IPC is to enable the Society to strengthen its capacity, broaden its impact, and create sustainable, long-term relationships that advance the shared goals of both the Society and industry stakeholders. These partnerships are expected to contribute to the Society’s mission by aligning industry resources, expertise, and networks with the needs and objectives of the Society, enhance professional standards, and promote knowledge exchange.

Melvin Tan, CFA is the Co-founder of 8VantEdge, a licensed fund management company in Singapore. At 8VantEdge, he manages investments for clients and helps others set up their own funds.
Melvin is a Senior Accredited Director with the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID). He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an active Toastmasters member. Within the CFA community, Melvin helps lead partnerships with the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and supports events as the Industry Partnership Co-Chair.

Simon is the Chief Executive Officer of Peak Capital Management, a multi-asset alternative fund manager, that strive to provide tailored investment strategies to
accredited investors. He served as Chief Executive Officer of RHB Asset Management Pte. Ltd. between June 2020 and May 2024 and also headed up the Alternative Investment of
RHB Asset Management Group. Prior to this appointment, Simon was the CEO/Managing Director of CCB International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (an investment arm of China
Construction Bank) since 2016, after leaving Shanda Group, a private investment holding company where he heads up the Multi-Asset Investment activities.
Prior to Shanda Group, Simon was Pan Asia Deputy Chief Investment Officer of AXA Rosenberg Investment Management, which is 100% owned by AXA Investment Managers,
where he started his Investment Management career in 2001. He has served in the Singapore, United States of America and Japan office in his 15 years of service in the firm.
His prior appointment at the firm have included Head of Investment Japan, Head of Portfolio Management in Asia Pacific, senior global product strategist, US strategy
engineer and Asia Pacific portfolio engineer.
Simon obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. He is a
CFA charterholder.
Simon was formerly the President of CFA Society Singapore and holds roles in other non-profit organizations including member of Singapore
Manufacturing Federation Finance Management Committee. Simon is also serving as Fellows with Singapore University of Social Sciences.
The Networking Committee was established to serve as a platform for members to interact and expand their network of contacts in the financial industry. This is achieved through social events and theme-based activities organised for members and industry practitioners.

Zann Kwan, CFA, spent the last 9 years in cryptocurrency and digital assets in her 25 years of professional experience in finance and investments. Ms Kwan is the co-founder of Bitcoin Exchange Pte Ltd, a cryptocurrency pioneer that launched the first public bitcoin machine in Asia in early 2014. She also founded Deodi and V2A2 to improve the accessibility and safety of cryptocurrencies for retail and institutions participants.
Ms Kwan has been on the board of ACCESS, the leading blockchain and cryptocurrency industry association in Asia, since 2015. She also sits on the advisory board of Raffles Family Office.
Being one of the first accounting-trained entrepreneurs in the cryptocurrency space, she has played an instrumental role in the development of tax regulations on digital tokens in Singapore, advising the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) in the nascent years. She has been called the “Crypto Queen” by the Accounting and Business Magazine by ACCA in 2019 for her contribution in the space.
As a frequent keynote speaker on fintech and blockchain since 2014, Ms Kwan has been interviewed by leading media for her expert opinion in cryptocurrency, digital assets, Defi and Web3. She has also spoken on 9 keynotes and 4 panel discussions for CFA Societies in the region in the past 9 years.
Ms Kwan was previously with GIC Real Estate. She started her career in 1998 in financial auditing with Arthur Andersen and KPMG in Singapore and New York. Subsequently, she worked in real estate investments and development before moving back home to Singapore in 2010

Victor Ong, CFA, is Deputy Head, Global Portfolio Management, Capital Risk Solutions at AXIS Capital. Prior to AXIS, Victor worked at Standard Chartered Bank in various positions which included being as a buy side analyst in fixed income and asset backed securities, a coverage banker, and an infrastructure finance banker. Since 2007, Victor has been an active volunteer especially in the area of professional development. He joined the Board in 2019 and is currently Co-Chair of the Professional Development Committee.

As Head of Investment Science, Mark is responsible for managing the intersection of Quantitative and Fundamental investment strategies, leveraging Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to enhance the investment process, generate alpha, and deliver value to clients. He developed multiple quantitative strategies using machine learning, natural language processing, and cloud computing, resulting in improved portfolio performance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Mark launched Maybank’s first Quantitative fund in 2020 which earned a five star rating from Morningstar after completing its three year track record in 2023. Mark has more than 16 years of investment experience. He is a regular speaker at local radio stations to share his insights on the market outlook. He has written commentaries for publications including the Business Times and the Lianhe Zaobao. He speaks at prominent investment conferences on Quantitative Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, including events hosted by Bernstein, Philips Securities, CFA Society Singapore, and The Summit for Asset Management.
Mark graduated with a MA in International & Development Economics from Yale University and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. He is a CFA Charterholder.

The University Outreach Committee was established by CFA Society Singapore in 2007. Its role, as its name implies, is to reach out to Singapore’s academic institutions of higher learning and act as a bridge for the set of next generation of leaders in the financial industry and facilitate their entry into the CFA programme and the industry.
Connie Ong, CFA, has a career journey spanning more than 30 years in the audit, research, asset management, and wealth management industries across Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia. Her last role prior to retirement from full time employment was as Executive Director and Market Head of UBS AG, the largest wealth manager globally. At UBS AG, she ran the Malaysian client business, comprising a team of about 30 Client Advisors and 4 Desk Heads.

David Leow is the Chairman of the Corporate Strategy & Communications Committee and a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He is Managing Director of Thaler Global Pte Ltd, a consultancy and investment firm in Singapore.
David has served in various senior roles including as Director of Business Development for Virgin Asia Management, Vice President of UOB Kay Hian’s Equity Capital Markets Group, Vice President of the DBS Bank’s Private Equity Group and Associate Director of Research of HSBC Securities in Singapore.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia), a CFA charterholder, and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. In 2013, he attended Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program.
The Committee will focus on initiatives falling within the above criteria and arrange events and opportunities for members to participate as guest speakers, panellists, mentors, and judges.

Soo Earn, CFA, was Deloitte Global Consulting Private Leader, and Deloitte Southeast Asia Private and Private Equity Leader. Throughout his professional career, Soo Earn handled numerous valuation and modelling engagements for M&A, regulatory & taxation, and financial reporting purposes. Given his technical expertise, he has acted as an independent expert on valuation and accounting matters for dispute cases. He also has extensive experience in advising investors and lenders in domestic and cross border M&A transactions as well as supporting vendors in divesting their business and entrepreneurs in accessing growth capital.
Active in the industry, Soo Earn currently serves as a Institute of Valuers and Appraisers of Singapore (IVAS) representative to the ESG & IA Valuation Working Group comprising of four international valuation professional organisations. He was a founding member and council member of IVAS from 2013 to 2018. At CFA Society Singapore, Soo Earn serves as a member of the Advisory Council and Audit Committee. He was a Board Member from 2006 to 2014, a member of the Advocacy Committee from 2014 to 2016. Soo Earn was a member of the Financial Reporting Committee of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) from 2011 to 2018 and chaired the Valuation sub-committee from 2011 to 2017. He has also served as a Board member and Audit Committee Chairman of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore from 2011 to 2017. Currently, he is a member of the Panel for the Copyright Tribunals, Singapore Ministry of Law.
Active in the community, Soo Earn is an advisor to the Singapore Chapter of AIESEC, the largest youth-run organization in the world that provides young people with leadership development and cross-cultural experience. He also serves as a Board/Council Member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Singapore (RMHC), the NTUC First Campus (NFC), the Singapore Agro-Food Enterprises Federation (SAFEF) and the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS). Elizabeth Chau, CFA, has over 30 years of investment experience at GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. During her tenure, she managed global fixed income and currency portfolios, led the build-out of trading capabilities across major financial centers, and was promoted to enterprise leadership roles guiding strategic transformation within GIC.
As Head of Balance Sheet Management, Elizabeth developed innovative liquidity and funding strategies, fostering new revenue streams and serving on key risk committees. She has been involved in national financial development through roles on the Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee and board appointments in professional organizations.
Elizabeth holds a first-class Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore. Currently, she is a consultant to the NUS Investment Office, advising on liquidity, currency frameworks, and investment strategy. She is committed to leadership excellence, talent development, and supporting Singapore’s public and educational institutions.

Ng Nam Sin started his career as a mechanical and electrical engineer in 1986. He joined the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) in 1988. In 1994, he was posted to the EDB office in New York, where he was the Regional Director responsible for promoting investments into Singapore. He moved to the Monetary Authority of Singapore in 1998 where he was in charge of developing the Singapore financial sector. In 2013, he took on new responsibilities for human resource, information technology and corporate services. During this time, he was also the Chairman of the Singapore Clearing House Association (SCHA) up to May 2018. SCHA oversees electronic payment systems including GIRO, FAST and cheque clearing in Singapore. Ng Nam Sin was seconded to the Institute of Banking and Finance in June 2018, where he is currently the Chief Executive Officer. Ng Nam Sin graduated with a degree in engineering at the University of Glasgow, UK in 1985. He attended the Stanford Executive Program in 2008. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2008.

Ms Liu Chunyen was appointed to AIA Singapore’s Executive Committee as its Chief Investment Officer in March 2017, and is responsible for spearheading the success of the company’s investment strategies. This includes developing and enhancing AIA Singapore’s investment performances, asset and liability management, insurance product solutioning, as well as ILP funds development.
Additionally, she is passionate about promoting sustainable investing and lift styles and engages the industry associations to uplift the relevant capabilities.
Having been with AIA since 2008, Chunyen has undertaken numerous roles across multiple geographies including the position of Head of Financial Risk and Risk Metrics with AIA Group in Hong Kong prior to her pursuing her current CIO in Singapore. Chunyen was also previously based in New York in her role as Market Risk Manager with AIG Inc.
A CFA charterholder, Chunyen holds a Master of Arts in Economics (New York University, USA) and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Investment (Baruch College, the City University of New York, USA).

TK Yap is Group Chief Transformation Officer at CGS-CIMB Securities and drives its transformation in the areas of superior products, efficient technology, and effective scalability to maximize customer engagement.
He currently oversees the Transformation Solutions Group comprising Enterprise Architecture, Process Architecture, Platforms, Technology, Operations and Transformation Management Office functions.
His 35 years in the securities industry have included roles in local and global firms, buy and sell sides, distribution and origination, as well as research and sales functions.

Mr Neil Parekh serves as the Group Deputy Chairman and Board Director at the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), a company limited by guarantee, established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Until recently, he was Partner and Head of Asia and Australia at Tikehau Capital, and now serves as Non-Executive Chairman, Asia at the same firm. He previously held the position of CEO, Asia at National Australia Bank.
Mr Parekh is a Council Member of the Singapore Business Federation and the Singapore Institute of Directors and serves as an Advisory Board Member of the James Cook University, Singapore, and the Singapore Fintech Association.. He also serves as a Senior Adviser to the Atlantic Council in Washington DC. and is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors as well as the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also the Chairman of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He served as a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2023 to 2025. He has also served on the Governing Council of the Association of Banks in Singapore and on the boards of Nautilus Insurance and TiE Singapore.

Mr Koh Boon Pin is the Head of M&A and IPO at Soochow Singapore Capital Markets (Asia) Pte Ltd. He has more than 25 years of experience in the investment banking and finance industry, including 15 years with DBS Bank, where he completed numerous IPOs of local and foreign large corporates, SMEs and real estate investment trusts. He was also involved in corporate spin offs, listing via introduction and the evaluation of potential acquisition targets of DBS Bank.
The SGX listings completed by Boon Pin include a secondary listing via introduction of a Hong Kong listed global leading wireless solutions provider, the primary listing on Mainboard of a film and drama series production company as well as the primary listing on Mainboard of a preschool centre operator in Singapore.
Boon Pin holds a Second Upper Honours in Accountancy and an Executive Master of Public Administration (conducted in Chinese) from Nanyang Technological University. He is a CFA Charterholder, a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore and was awarded the Chartered FinTech Professional qualification. He currently sits on the Board of CFA Society Singapore and the Business China Advanced Leaders Programme Alumni Committee. He is also the Secretary-General of the Nanyang Centre of Public Administration Alumni Association and is a Global Fintech Institute Chartered Industry Fellow.
Praveen Jagwani, CFA, is the CEO of UTI International Ltd, the offshore arm of UTI AMC, India’s oldest asset manager. Praveen has 30 years of experience in banking and investment management.
Praveen started his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank, working with them in India, Australia and Bahrain across Credit, Consumer Finance, Systems & Private Banking. Later at Standard Chartered in Dubai, as the Chief Investment Officer for Middle East and South Asia, he built the Wealth Management and Investment Advisory business. He then joined Merrill Lynch in London and managed their Hedge Fund & Private Equity Advisory business.
Praveen holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, a Master’s degree in Operations Research and an MBA. In 2002, he completed the CFA® Program and has been a member of the Advocacy Committee of CFA Society Singapore since 2015.
