Types of Membership

A CFA Society Singapore membership demonstrates your commitment to professional excellence, giving you recognition as an authoritative and actively engaged investment professional. You can either become a charterholder / regular member, an affiliate member, or an associate member of CFA Society Singapore.

Membership Fees

Society membership fees (excluding associate membership) are due in US dollars at the same time as your CFA Institute membership fees. Both fees are paid via your CFA Institute account and are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Important Note

Before applying, review the Sanctions Compliance Policy. Residents of certain countries or markets may be prohibited by law from becoming a society member.

Who is this for? Charterholders are the most distinguished professionals in the industry. They demonstrate a mastery of investment management skills and a commitment to continued excellence and ethics.

Seasoned industry professionals who seek to affiliate with CFA Institute and access exclusive member benefits for continued education and career development.

Individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements for Charterholder or Regular membership seeking affiliation with CFA Institute and access to exclusive member benefits.

Singapore-based candidates and preparatory programme participants who do not meet the eligibility requirements for the Charterholder, Regular, or Affiliate membership.

How do I become eligible? Passed all three levels of CFA Program, meet work experience requirements and have the required professional references.

A bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience and a passing score for the CFA Program Level I Exam, CIPM Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands Exam, or the self-administered Standards of Practice Exam. 

Affiliate membership may be granted to those who are involved in activities closely related to analysis for investment decision-making but may not necessarily devote full time to the profession of financial analytics. This is subjected to approval from the Society's board or Membership committee.

Current candidacy in the CFA Program or other CFA Institute certifications, as well as approval from the Society's Board or Membership committee.


No concurrent CFA Institute membership is required.

Prorated Membership Fees
The first year annual dues for regular and affiliate membership will be prorated for those joining CFA Institute and CFA Society Singapore for the first time, and will vary depending on the month they join. Use CFA Institute’s prorated membership fee chart to understand what your membership will cost.

The annual fee for associate membership cannot be prorated and/or transferred to another person or society.
